September 2016 Newsletter

September began with quite a surprise as Hurricane Hermine hit Florida’s West Coast bringing a storm surge and heavy rainfall and generating some insurance claims in the process. So far, according to Citizens Property, Pinellas County leads the way with over 200 claims to date. The Florida Dept. of Insurance Regulation has estimated losses in the amount of $67 million.

However, this has once again showed our resiliency and commitment to the industry. This Hurricane Season provided us with necessary reminders that even though we have been without a threat for many years, we can be impacted at any time.

LAAIA continues to focus on our members with education programs, communicating important industry changes and updates, and providing excellent networking opportunities.

As the Holiday Season approaches, we are excited to announce our Wine Tasting Fundraiser on October 26th at Happy Wine in Coconut Grove. Please register on our website, www.laaia.com, and support our cause with Holtz Children’s Hospital.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
