February 2017 Newsletter

We find ourselves early in 2017 with many challenges throughout our industry. It has been displayed early that AOB, PIP & Workers compensation are on the top of the agenda in Tallahassee come session in March. We were honored to have our very own Insurance Commissioner, David Altmaier, speak at our meeting and inform us of the recent political climate we are facing. Insurance companies are in dire need of some sort of reform, or consumers will be directly impacted in the very near future and our marketplace will shift to a hard market.

This is our time to shine as an association and prove our existence, our members are our voice. Our members are in the trenches dealing with these issues daily, reach out and get involved! Please plan ahead for our March meeting where we will be hosting Barry Gilway & Anitere Flores which will be providing up to date information relating to these issues right before legislative session begins.

I am very proud to see the progress our Broward Chapter is having, and its continued evolvement. Visit their website and be informed of all the events they are hosting. www.blaaia.com. Don’t forget to attend our first charity event of the year, it will be taking place at Bottle & Bottega Art Uncorked “Painting It Forward For the Kids at Holtz” all proceeds will go directly to our charitable foundation Holtz Childrens’ Hospital.

Lastly, believe it or not your incoming President Elect, David Gil, is working countless hours alongside Soraya Regalado to make sure we host another successful convention this upcoming summer. Please be on the lookout for all the amazing events and educational classes to come.
