President

  • Create a strategic vision for the association
  • Preside over Board, Executive Committee, and Convention Committee meetings
  • Work in partnership with the Executive Director to make sure Board resolutions are carried out
  • Attend Board meetings, functions, and special events
  • Assist the Executive Director in preparing the agenda for Board meetings
  • Assist the Executive Director in conducting new Board member orientation
  • Works with the nominating committee to recruit new board members
  • Acts as the spokesperson for the organization
  • Periodically consults with Board members on their roles and helps them assess their performance
  • Represent the Association during their presidency at association chapter events, Washington D.C., National Organizations, Annual Convention, Legislative Leadership Fly-in, and annual Fly-in
  • Must have a valid agent license

Vice President

  • Attend all Board meetings, committee meetings, functions, and special events
  • Serve on the Executive Committee
  • Serve as the Chairman of the Expansion Committee
  • Serve as a member of the Convention Committee to plan the LAAIA Annual Convention
  • Being a member of the Convention Committee, you work in partnership with the Executive Director to make sure the Convention Committee resolutions are carried out.
  • Being a member of the Convention Committee, you work to assist the Executive Director in sponsorship efforts for the Annual Convention
  • Carry out special assignments as requested by the President
  • Understand the responsibilities of the President and be able to perform these duties in the absences of the President and Immediate Past President
  • Acts as an alternate spokesperson for the organization
  • Participate as a vital part of the Board leadership
  • Inform others about the organization and advocate they join as a member to one or more of the Chapter's
  • Must have a valid agent license

Treasurer

  • Attend all Board meetings, committee meetings, functions, and special events
  • Maintain knowledge of the organization's financial goals and objectives
  • Serve as the chair of the Finance Committee
  • Manage with the Finance Committee, the board's review of and action related to the Board's financial responsibilities
  • Work with the accountant and Executive Director to ensure that the appropriate financial reports are made available to the board on a timely basis
  • Present the annual budget for approval
  • Serve as a member of the Convention Committee to plan the LAAIA Annual Convention
  • Being a member of the Convention Committee, you work in partnership with the Executive Director to make sure the Convention Committee resolutions are carried out.
  • Being a member of the Convention Committee, you work to assist the Executive Director in sponsorship efforts for the Annual Convention
  • Carry out special assignments as requested by the President
  • Serve on the Executive Committee
  • Understand the responsibilities of the President and be able to perform these duties in the absences of the President, Vice President, and Immediate Past President
  • Inform others about the organization and advocate they join as a member to one or more of the Chapter's

Secretary

  • Attend all board meetings, committee meetings, functions, and special events
  • Take minutes at all board and special meetings
  • Provide the Executive Director with the final copy of minutes to be distributed to all board members at least a week prior to the board meeting for approval.
  • Serve as a member of the Convention Committee to plan the LAAIA Annual Convention
  • Being a member of the Convention Committee, you work in partnership with the Executive Director to make sure the Convention Committee resolutions are carried out.
  • Being a member of the Convention Committee, you work to assist the Executive Director in sponsorship efforts for the Annual Convention
  • Carry out special assignments as requested by the President
  • Serve on the Executive Committee
  • Understand the responsibilities of the President and be able to perform these duties in the absences of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Immediate Past President
  • Inform others about the organization and advocate they join as a member to one or more of the Chapter's
  • Participate as a vital part of the Board leadership

Director

  • Attend all board meetings, committee meetings, functions, and special events
  • Be informed about the organization's mission, services, policies, and programs
  • Serve on committees or task forces and offer to take on special assignments
  • Keep up to date on developments in the organization's field
  • Carry out special assignments as requested by the President
  • Follow conflict of interest and confidentiality policies
  • Inform others about the organization and advocate they join as a member to one or more of the Chapter's
